Top 10 Favorite Books for Girls

In this post I wrote about my boys’ top 10 favorite books. Today I’m going to share with you my top 10 favorite books for girls. My daughter also has loved the books that the boys loved, and the boys loved some of her favorite books. But I would say that their top 10 books would be different.

These books have all been much enjoyed and reread by my girl and will probably continue to be read again and again. This list contains books from all reading levels but are classic stories with character building traits that never get old, no matter what your reading level is!

Why We Love These Books

The reason we love these specific books is that they teach girls to be content and courageous, adventurous and imaginative. The culture is bombarding girls with a false version of “self-worth”, and I believe that it’s important for us to counter that with teaching them that they are not meant to look like what the world would dictate, but that they would be courageous women, like the women we read of in Scripture and the bold women of the past.
